Leveraged Finance Mid-Level Associate Attorney

Location: New York, NY

 

Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 50 international law firm, is seeking a highly qualified Leveraged Finance Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join their Global Finance group, recognized for its comprehensive representation of borrowers, lenders, equity investors, and financial advisors. This top-tier team advises on a wide range of financing transactions and is consistently ranked among the best in Nationwide Banking & Finance by Chambers USA. The group’s unique positioning, representing clients across the capital structure, provides a deep understanding of the latest market trends and deal terms in the leveraged finance space.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in New York.
  • 3–6 years of substantive experience in leveraged finance transactions.
  • Significant experience representing borrowers, lenders, private equity sponsors, and/or agents in finance deals, including domestic and cross-border acquisitions, recapitalizations, and restructurings.
  • Preferred exposure to middle market lending and experience representing alternative financiers, including business development companies (BDCs), hedge funds, and other non-bank lenders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and run key aspects of transactions, from due diligence to closing, as part of a deal team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal counsel in a broad range of leveraged finance transactions, working closely with clients on acquisitions, restructurings, and recapitalizations.
  • Represent both borrowers and lenders in complex, cross-border financing transactions, ensuring compliance with market standards and legal requirements.
  • Serve as a key member of deal teams, handling responsibilities from initial structuring through transaction closing.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, private equity sponsors, and other stakeholders to negotiate and execute successful financing arrangements.
