LEGAL BILLING COORDINATOR


Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices located nationally. They currently have an immediate need for a full-time Legal Billing Coordinator for our Uniondale office.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of legal billing experience and bring extensive knowledge of e-billing systems. This is a hybrid working environment, with employees working 3 days in and 2 days out of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain monthly billing for assigned Attorneys 
  • Process edits, write offs, transfers and other time and expense adjustments 
  • Review time entries to ensure proper rates are reflected 
  • Ability to execute complex bills in a timely manner 
  • Review new and updated billing guidelines to ensure proper compliance 
  • Ensure bills are submitted promptly through the clients e-billing system 
  • Use Aderant to generate LEDES files 
  • Prepare system generated reports such as AR Summary, Billing History and Aged WIP 
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and unapplied funds 
  • Prepare spreadsheets and other documentation as needed 
  • Assist with special projects as needed 


Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of legal billing and electronic billing experience 
  • Experience with Aderant or Elite billing system a plus 
  • Motivated, organized, self-starter and able to prioritize workload, multitask and work independently 
  • Knowledge of legal billing processes and related software applications 
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients, claim representatives and colleagues 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel

  

The annualized salary range for this position is $60,000 to $72,000.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
