Labor & Employment Associate Attorney (6-8 years)

Our client, a distinguished Mansfield 5.0 certified AmLaw 100 law firm known for its commitment to professional development, is seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join their Chicago office. Recognized for its leadership in diversity and inclusivity, the firm has earned accolades from the Human Rights Campaign, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, and Seramount (formerly Working Mother magazine).
Candidate Profile:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Bar admission in the State of Illinois or able to waive in.
- 6–8 years of substantive experience in labor and employment litigation and counseling.
- Expertise in managing single-plaintiff cases, wage-hour conflicts, class/collective action issues, administrative charges, policy assessments, and investigations is greatly appreciated.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Intellectual curiosity and a practical approach to problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on challenging and groundbreaking labor and employment cases.
- Take ownership of routine and increasingly complex matters with minimal supervision.
- Conduct policy reviews, investigations, and respond to administrative charges.
- Work within a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group.
- Handle a variety of employment-related issues, including wage and hour disputes and class action lawsuits.
- Draft and review critical legal documents, such as motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
