Our Civil Construction client is looking for a Jr. Coatings Superintendent. Preferred NC but can reside in the following states: NC, MD, TN, WV, VA, SC, GA. This is a strong growth opportunity for someone looking to develop into a Superintendent role through hands-on field experience, direct mentorship from senior leadership, and exposure to complex bridge and industrial repair projects.
 
Must Haves
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations
  • Basic familiarity with field construction or coatings operations
  • Ability to document work and use company systems to track production, schedules, and reporting
 
Pluses
  • Experience with steel bearing replacement, concrete/shotcrete repairs, joint restoration, beam plating, steel beam repair, epoxy injection, blasting, and painting equipment
  • Industry certifications such as NACE Level 1, C3/C5, CAS, or OSHA 30
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in construction or coatings work
 
Day to Day
This role provides hands-on experience in bridge and industrial coating projects under the guidance of a Senior Superintendent. During the first six months, the majority of your time will be spent performing practical field tasks, including surface preparation, blasting, painting, demolition, and repairs, to develop core trade skills. Additional responsibilities involve assisting with crew management, organizing work schedules and materials, supporting safety and quality initiatives, documenting daily activities, monitoring progress, participating in meetings, and coordinating with subcontractors. The position is entirely field-based and requires travel across several states, with projects ranging from a few months to two years, offering strong growth potential toward a Senior Superintendent role.
