Primary Accountability (Job Purpose):
The role of the Interior Designer is multifaceted and involves supporting senior designers. This position is crucial for ensuring that design projects are executed smoothly and efficiently, providing a supportive backbone to the creative process and allowing a design associate to gain experience while playing an important role in project completion.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supports senior designers to create design solutions and plan the implementation of project objectives.
- Conducts research for selecting appropriate colors, finishes, and materials.
- Executes site surveys and document findings.
- Upholds interior design standards through product research.
- Supports design development for senior-level designer review.
- Flexibility in architectural support as needed by senior architectural staff
- Performs standard checking and verification tasks.
- Contributes to business development with finish boards, presentations and recommendations to management. Joins team members in networking events when available.
- Manages and update resource materials library.
- Develops skills in computer-aided design and office software.
- Assists with administrative tasks such as scanning and filing.
- Engages in quantity takeoffs and consult with manufacturers.
- Evaluates materials and periodic observation of architectural elements.
- Completes design assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques or design.
