Job Description
Defend insureds, motor carriers, and businesses in commercial vehicle and trucking accident litigation
Manage a litigation caseload from assignment through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts
Draft pleadings, discovery responses, dispositive motions, trial briefs, and evaluation reports for insurers and corporate clients
Appear in Arizona state and, where applicable, federal courts for hearings, conferences, and trials
Evaluate case exposure and provide clear, timely reporting and recommendations to clients and carriers
Work collaboratively with firm leadership on case strategy, trial themes, and settlement posture
Maintain regular, professional communication with clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and the court
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active Arizona Bar license in good standing
3+ years of insurance defense experience required; 5+ years preferred
Strong background in automobile/commercial vehicle defense or general bodily injury defense litigation
Proven experience taking and defending depositions; trial experience or first/second chair trial involvement strongly preferred
Solid legal writing skills and comfort with motion practice and complex discovery
Ability to work independently in a primarily remote environment while staying responsive and organized
Professional, solutions-focused communication style with insurers and corporate clients
