Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to advise colleges and universities on regulatory compliance and business operations. The role includes:
- Advising higher education institutions on compliance with state and federal regulations
- Handling transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions involving colleges and universities
- Providing counsel on governance, accreditation, and institutional policies
- Assisting with contract negotiation, employment issues, and risk management
- Representing institutions in regulatory investigations and administrative proceedings
- Collaborating with firm leadership to develop innovative legal strategies for clients
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active New Jersey Bar admission
- 3+ years of legal experience, with a focus on higher education or regulatory compliance
- Strong background in transactional matters, including mergers and business operations
- Experience representing colleges or universities preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
