This full time, permanent Gearbox Drivetrain Engineering Manager opportunity is at a diverse, low volume, high variety manufacturer of large, unique, industrial equipment. The company has been in existence for over 100 years. The company is highly successful and is investing heavily in new equipment. Employees are never bored as the products are unique and changing. The company is smaller in size so employees matter here and feel like they are contributing. If an employee needs flexibility, that is possible here. In the engineering department, Mechanical Design Engineers create the design and Manufacturing Engineers figure out if and how the product can be manufactured. Creo ProE, Access, Excel, Crystal Reports and JobBoss are utilized here.

The company promotes from within and this position could grow into a General Manager. The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will encompass:

• Being a part of the strategic management team
• Overseeing the engineering function
• Supervising two direct reports (this number is expected to grow)
• Being the front line for developing new products to take the company to another level
• Creating the strategy for new product development
• Designing products utilizing Creo and ProE with the engineering staff
• Analyzing product markets
• Working with sales as there is so much custom engineering
• Assisting customers
• Participating in quality

Candidates will have a minimum background consisting of:

• Three or more years of supervising engineers at a smaller company
• Four or more years of gearbox, drivetrain or gear mechanical design experience
• A related four-year engineering degree
• A solid work history
• A US citizen or possess a green card
• A residence within 45-minutes
