Field Engineer – Newark Airport
Salary Range: $120,000 – $185,000, based on experience
Position Overview: As a Field Engineer reporting to the Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing construction projects with the following responsibilities:
– Review project plans and develop construction schedules aligned with project activities.
– Coordinate with subcontractors for material procurement and preconstruction deliverables.
– Obtain quotes, draft contracts, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
– Prepare work plan packages, conduct pre-construction meetings, and confirm all prerequisites are met.
– Oversee daily field operations, perform layout checks, and verify work against technical requirements, consulting design engineers as needed.
– Support subcontract administration and material suppliers by managing correspondence, submittals, RFIs, and performance records; maintain accurate payment records.
– Contribute to monthly progress reports, schedule updates, and issue tracking, providing accurate project performance assessments.
– Identify and address changing site conditions or other impacts during project planning.
– Implement quality checks, secure necessary permits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
– Manage project close-out processes, coordinating with clients and third parties.
**Requirements:**
– Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
– 3-4+ years of experience in civil construction.
– Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements.
– Proficiency in project controls (cost accounting, estimating, forecasting, and contracts).
– Strong understanding of critical path method and resource scheduling.
– Experience with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills.
– Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
– Keen attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
– Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and committed to achieving project goals.
