Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- 3+ years’ experience in electrical estimating (commercial/industrial focus/design build projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and estimating tools (Accubid preferred).
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications and bid documents.
- Perform comprehensive takeoff for all aspects of electrical construction in accordance with contract documents.
- Maintain a working knowledge of environmental factors and how to apply them.
- Maintain a working knowledge of NEC and be able to identify these applications in documents.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with material vendors and sub-contractors.
- Detail and communicate proposal requests for material vendors and sub-contractors.
- Review and verify accuracy of material vendor and subcontractor proposals.
- Prepare proposals, including scope letters, bid forms, itemized breakouts, etc. as required to complete proposal requests.
- Assist in preparing budget pricing, as requested.
- Attend Pre-bid meetings, as requested.
- Consult with clients, vendors, foremen, and management staff to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepare and communicate project information to hand-over to project management.
