The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for preparing electrical schematics and designs in alignment with engineering specifications using computer-aided design equipment and various programming software. This role involves designing machines according to customer requirements and interacting with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop electrical design concepts, including panels and assembly drawings, and create electrical bills of materials.
Specify control equipment with a focus on safety, functionality, and equipment protection.
Review sales orders, customer specifications, and related documents to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
Prepare and manage forms related to project releases, including partial, final, revision releases, customer adjustments, and approval prints.
Collaborate with plant and field representatives to resolve design-related issues.
Provide support to various departments, including EMP, Customer Service, and Proposals.
Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure cohesive design and operational functionality.
Expedite releases to meet delivery timelines or address machine issues.
Design, implement, and verify PLC and HMI programs.
Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues related to aftermarket business, including part loading/classification and technical support.
Engage in special projects and additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
3+ years of experience in a related field.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical software.
Strong skills in PC applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience with programming AB, Siemens, and C-more PLCs and HMI software.
