Echo Technologist – Cardiac Sonographer

About the Role

As an Echo Technologist, you’ll play a vital role in diagnosing and supporting cardiovascular health under the guidance of the Cath Lab Manager and Department Director. You’ll perform cardiac ultrasound imaging across all age groups—infant to geriatric—while being a trusted resource to patients, families, medical staff, and newer sonographers. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help us maintain the highest standards of care.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform echocardiograms and related ultrasound procedures

  • Ensure accurate, timely imaging in accordance with department protocols

  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced techs

  • Act as a liaison for patients, families, and clinical staff

  • Participate in quality assurance and process improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a cardiac echocardiography program (AMA-approved) or equivalent experience (self-study/on-the-job)

  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via ARDMS or CCI certification

  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of national board exams in echocardiography, color Doppler, and stress testing (ARDMS)

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting
