Reporting to the SVP of Operations, the Director of Partnership Development is responsible for strategy development and the expansion of the organization’s partner network with healthcare institutions, medical facilities, and specialized service providers. This role involves collaborating with external leaders in the biospecimen field to advance organizational initiatives. The position ensures systems, processes, and procedures are in place to manage the partner network’s compliance with relevant quality and performance standards and meet the business objectives and goals of the organization.

This position is onsite in Philadelphia, but offers a hybrid work schedule with two work-from-home days per week.

Qualifications of the Director of Partnership Development:

  • Master’s degree in health and/or business administration, plus 7-10 years’ experience working within organ procurement organizations, tissue banks, eye banks, transplant centers, or other relevant biospecimen centers. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Certification as a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) required.
  • Proficient in contract negotiation, budgeting, and solid understanding of legal and contractual matters.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting medical research through collaboration with healthcare organizations, including regulatory compliance, quality standards, and the application of protocols and data analysis to advance best practices.
  • Evidence of strong business development and marketing skills, including the ability to analyze complex relationships and identify opportunities for program growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal and presentation skills with a persuasive personal style and the ability to establish long-term professional relationships.
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills, which contribute to exceptional problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Interest and ability in traveling to partner sites (30% travel required)

Qualifications of the Director of Partnership Development:

  • Lead expansion of the organization’s partner network to align with organizational objectives.
  • Strengthen and manage new and existing contracts with the partner network to grow return on investment for the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including leaders at healthcare organizations, medical facilities, specialized service centers, hospitals, and other industry leaders.
  • Execute opportunities for growth via new services that align with emerging organizational needs.
  • Develop performance objectives, guidance and leadership for partner sites to advance organizational initiatives, including working with the Operations teams on the processes and infrastructure that ensure the partner network complies with relevant quality and performance standards.
  • Oversee training programs for partner sites on standard operating procedures for specialized medical services and protocols.
  • Participate as an active member of the Executive Management Team on technology initiatives, budgeting and demand forecasting, and establishing the growth strategy for the partner network.
  • Work with the Chief Scientific Officer to develop strategies for internal and external resource utilization for service delivery efforts for the execution of new initiatives.
  • Work with the Chief Financial Officer to develop budgets and financial performance metrics.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to develop Quality and Regulatory compliance objectives and milestones for the partner network and identify opportunities for process improvement.
