The Director of People Services (DPS) serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, driving HR initiatives that enhance workforce engagement, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance. This role oversees employee relations, compensation, leadership development, and HR policies, ensuring alignment with the hospital’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to address employee relations, compensation, and talent initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (CMS, OSHA, TJC regulations).

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission and OSHA.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts to foster an inclusive workplace.

Talent Management & Acquisition

  • Oversee recruitment, retention, and workforce planning to attract top talent.
  • Develop leadership and training programs to enhance employee performance.
  • Implement succession planning strategies for critical roles.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Analyze market trends to ensure competitive compensation structures.
  • Oversee benefits programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure budgeting and cost-effective HR operations.

HR Technology & Analytics

  • Utilize HR systems and analytics to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor key HR metrics, including turnover rates and engagement levels.
  • Implement HR technology solutions to enhance workforce efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on employee relations, talent management, training, and compensation.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, CMS, OSHA, and TJC regulations.
  • Ability to analyze complex HR challenges and provide strategic solutions.
  • Proficiency in HR software, data analysis, and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Experience managing multi-site HR operations.
  • Strong leadership experience overseeing HR teams and support roles.
