Director of Formulations and Strategic Operations

We seek a dynamic and strategic leader to join an exciting cosmetic company as the Director of Formulations and Strategic Operations. This role will oversee product formulation development, manage vendor relationships, drive commercial initiatives, and shape the strategic direction of our client’s product portfolio. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cosmetic formulations, supply chain management, and business strategy, coupled with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the formulation of new cosmetic products, ensuring alignment with market trends, regulatory requirements, and brand standards.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to innovate and improve product performance, safety, and efficacy.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with raw material suppliers, manufacturers, laboratory partners, and other vendors.
• Partner with marketing, sales, and product development teams to align formulations with customer needs and market demand.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify product differentiation and innovation opportunities.
• Drive the long-term strategic vision for product development and operations, aligning with the company’s growth objectives.
• Serve as a thought leader, providing insights and guidance to executive leadership on emerging trends and challenges in the cosmetic industry.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering from a highly respected and recognized university
• 5-10 years of experience in cosmetic formulation development and product commercialization, with a background in color cosmetics.
• Proven track record of managing vendor relationships and supply chain operations in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Strategic thinker who can analyze complex data and make sound business decisions.
• Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion.
