Position: Director of Business Development – Manufacturing

Location: Danville, VA 

 

Medium size business in the Danville area with Manufacturing Solutions is recruiting a dIRECTOR of Business Development to take this diverse business to the next level.

 

Individual will be responsible for new business development, forecasting, strategic planning, marketing, and industry/partner satisfaction to support near and long-term growth.

 

The company is looking for a visionary leader with a strong Business Development background in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

        Develop a marketing and sales strategy for providing manufacturing solutions to industry.

        Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations.

        Individual will ensure the company has a strategic / tactical plan to pursue new customers, platforms, projects, and programs.

        Identify opportunities and maintain a pipeline of potential business

        Execute on the strategic plan – track and measure activity

        Respond to RFPs in a timely manner

        Track proposal efforts and manage contract review

        Maintain business and government compliance

        Evangelize the company’s capabilities

REQUIREMENTS

        Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline or real life experience

        Master’s, in engineering, or MBA. PLUS

        10 years+ experience in account or program management.

        Defense experience with knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements required.

        Technical experience in the area of manufacturing.

        Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools.

        High level presentation experience at very senior level audiences.

Additional REQUIREMENTS

        Travel: 50%

        Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents.
