Cost Accounting Manager
$800M SEC Life Sciences Company— Indianapolis, IN — $125-135K plus 10% bonus
THE SIZZLE:
• Role is hybrid – 4x per week in office with Fridays remote
• Targeting 6-8+ years for Manager
• Manager reports to CAO, manages an expanding team
• Manage all aspects of inventory and cost accounting across North America & Europe

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• A Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance; an MBA, CMA or CPA is a plus
• 3-8+ years or progressive experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost and inventory accounting concepts under US GAAP
• Roll-up your sleeves approach and ability to problem solve
• Experience with accounting software applications, ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite required. Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud ERP is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in complex and dynamic environments
• Experience working at a global company in a SOX compliant environment is a plus
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure Inventory reporting for all sites is in accordance with US GAAP.
• Responsible for managing & maintaining the cost accounting system in Oracle while driving standardization and optimization across the manufacturing network.
• Oversee and lead the Excess & Obsolete Inventory Reserve Process while identifying and implementing process improvements to drive enhanced visibility and risk mitigation
• Provide monthly inventory reporting, including analytics to support stakeholder decision making.
• Oversee the review and analyze manufacturing variances for accuracy and root causes.
• Oversee execution of the annual standard cost setting process including review of material pricing and overhead cost pool analysis to ensure accurate item level cost for strategic pricing decisions.
• Lead physical inventory count processes to ensure accuracy of inventory records
• Ensure compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual controls including oversight of cycle counting at all locations.
• Lead development of fit for purpose inventory policies
• Review monthly account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts and related flux analysis.
• Main point of contact for inventory related topics with internal accounting teams, and internal/external auditors
