Position Overview:
As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of control systems for our products. You will play a key role in PLC programming and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development from conception through to production. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement control systems and PLC programs tailored to specific application requirements.
- Collaborate with product development teams to define control system specifications and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing control systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation associated with control system design and programming.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of control systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Provide technical support and training to internal and external stakeholders regarding control systems.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to controls engineering and automation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls engineering, specifically with PLC programming and product development.
- Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram) and various PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.).
- Strong understanding of control theory, automation standards, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CAN).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and software development tools.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, NFPA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
