Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee the financial operations of our organization, managing both the outsourced tactical accounting functions and the relationship with our public accounting firm. While the month-end statements will be handled by external partners, the Controller will be responsible for analyzing these financials and creating insightful reports for leadership, the board of directors, and investors. This individual will be a key player in shaping the financial landscape of the company and will contribute to strategic decision-making that drives continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with outsourced accounting partners and the public accounting firm to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop internal financial controls and processes. Analyze month-end financial statements to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage deposit and loan accounts with various financial institutions.
  • Compile and submit construction draws for new projects.
  • Create and present comprehensive financial reports and presentations for leadership, board members, lenders, and investors.
  • Create and oversee an internal financial dashboard within Datarails FP&A Platform.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies that support the company’s growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
  • Create budgets, cash flow analyses, forecasts and strategic plans. 
  • Oversee and manage internal Accounts Payable process
  • Review and approve bi-weekly payroll run, including setup of new employees into the Paylocity payroll system.
  • Oversee and manage the integration of financial data into the Sage Accounting system.Continuously assess and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a fast-paced, multi-unit organization.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience managing outsourced accounting teams and external auditors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with Sage Accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
