Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including:
- Managing the monthly accounting close process.
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
- Overseeing the annual financial audit process and ensuring compliance with INSPECS financial policies.
- Driving the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting process.
- Managing annual and half-year IFRS reporting requirements.
- Developing metrics to analyze Gross Margin performance.
- Evaluate and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation, including frame cycle counts and results evaluation.
- Review and approve vendor invoices and ensure timely state and federal tax payments.
- Monitor sales and use tax compliance across various states.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and business growth.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align financial strategy with company goals.
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics (CPA preferred).
- 5-10 years of experience in mid-to-senior-level finance or accounting roles.
- Expertise in finance, budgeting, cost accounting, and GAAP compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter who thrives under pressure and takes initiative.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and develop finance team members.
- Oversee daily department operations and workflow.
- Assign tasks, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling sensitive financial data.
- Manage performance discussions, disciplinary actions, and terminations in line with company policies.
