We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer specializing in machining and cold heading to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless communication between Engineering and Operations, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and implementing timely, innovative solutions to maintain production flow and efficiency. As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing new processes, improving existing ones, and contributing to product design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key liaison between Engineering and Operations, ensuring smooth communication and providing technical support.
  • Lead and support production teams by providing crucial data, feedback, and engineering expertise.
  • Design and install equipment, while developing detailed layouts for machinery and processes.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create and modify blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Interpret blueprints to ensure accurate setups and maintain compliance with GD&T principles.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC issues during production runs to minimize downtime.
  • Perform machine setups for both cold heading and machining processes, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and develop/implement new processes to meet industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for quoting, customer relations, and production planning to support the business side of operations.
  • Monitor production and material costs, recommending continuous improvements for cost-saving and process efficiency.
  • Document and standardize work procedures, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Actively promote and participate in LEAP/5S and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Job Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining and cold heading processes.
  • Proficient in using quality instruments and interpreting blueprints.
  • Skilled in quoting, production planning, and understanding the business aspects of manufacturing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in CNC machining and/or cold heading, with 8+ years if no degree is held.
  • Experience in setting up CNC equipment and writing programs.
  • Strong understanding of quality control instruments and processes.
  • Proficient in PC skills within a Windows environment.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, communicate effectively, and improve manufacturing processes.
