Responsibilities:

 

  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls
  • Identify areas for performance improvement on equipment; perform and promote preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment
  • Detect and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical components
  • Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues
  • Effectively communicate machine issues, status of install or status of machine repair to customer; ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer
  • Exhibit ownership of customer related problems and coordinate with appropriate departments when necessary for resolution of problems to ensure customer service satisfaction
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the field
  • Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
  • Stay abreast of vendor products and new technology and implement as appropriate
  • Conduct machine maintenance training as a component of after-sales technical support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

  • Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred; High School Diploma/GED required
  • 5+ years as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer highly preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 3+ years of experience working with CNC controls; Fanuc extremely beneficial
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail with technical aptitude is required
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other related business programs
  • Must be able to work unscheduled overtime without notice
  • Valid driver’s license and auto/vehicle insurance required
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 50% of the workweek; some overnight travel required.
  • Must provide basic hand tools for electrical/mechanical repair
