Civil Construction Survey Party Chief

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and direct field survey crews on civil construction projects.
Perform accurate site surveys, including layout, staking, and as-built data collection.
Interpret and understand construction drawings and specifications to ensure survey accuracy.
Manage all survey documentation and provide reports to project management.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment, including GPS and total station systems.
Train and mentor survey crew members to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve any survey-related issues that arise during the project.

REQUIREMENTS

At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Construction Survey Party Chief or in a related role in civil construction surveying.
Proficiency in using GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
Strong understanding of civil construction projects and the role of survey in project success.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Hours may vary depending on the project schedule, with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines and project milestones.
