Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiograph Technologist


Location: Portland, OR

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 + Signing Bonus + Paid Relocation

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing a variety of cardiac ultrasound examinations and possess a deep understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology. This role is crucial for accurately diagnosing the presence or absence of heart disease and will involve working with complex ultrasound equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians.

  • Utilize a range of complex ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Analyze and objectively identify heart disease or abnormalities based on a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

  • Assist physicians with advanced and invasive echocardiography procedures, including:

    • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)

    • Trans-catheter echo-guided procedures

    • Pericardiocentesis

    • Echo-guided myocardial biopsies

    • Contrast-enhanced exams

    • Exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography

  • Adapt procedures and techniques to meet unique circumstances and ensure clinically useful, cost-effective information is provided.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Oregon Sonographer license.

  • National Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

  • National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE-accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

  • One year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, or a minimum of 800 completed exams using all available imaging modalities.

  • Experience with pediatric echocardiography.

  • Familiarity with imaging support for advanced heart failure patients and mechanical support devices.
