A growing multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Bridge Project Manager to lead transportation structure projects across the Midwest region. This position focuses on managing both new bridge design and rehabilitation efforts, along with supporting structural inspection programs for public-sector clients.
This role offers the opportunity to oversee projects of varying size and complexity while collaborating with a diverse team of engineering professionals.
Manage bridge-related projects from initial planning through final delivery with limited supervision
Oversee and perform quality control for structural design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and plan production
Lead project coordination efforts, including organizing and facilitating meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders
Act as the primary liaison with clients, public agencies, and project partners
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including roadway, drainage, environmental, survey, utilities, and construction personnel
Assist with proposals, budgeting, fee development, and contract documentation
Participate in bridge inspections, structural evaluations, and load rating analyses; provide recommendations for repair or replacement
Contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and design standards
Mentor junior staff, including engineers-in-training, interns, and entry-level team members
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Minimum of 6 years of experience in bridge design and/or project management
Exposure to or experience with bridge inspection programs is beneficial
Familiarity with structural analysis and bridge rating software (e.g., industry-standard tools)
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and standard Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field environments, including uneven terrain and active job sites
