Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Active Bar Admission in New York.
- Class years 2017-2020 with substantive experience in bankruptcy and restructuring.
- Proven experience representing creditors, investors, distressed companies, and other stakeholders in complex U.S. and cross-border insolvency proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
- Familiarity with large-scale Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 matters, particularly those involving contested proceedings before trial and appellate courts.
- Large law firm experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a broad range of complex restructuring matters, representing creditors, investors, distressed companies, and other key stakeholders.
- Play a key role in both U.S. and international insolvency and restructuring matters, including representing clients in contested Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary, cross-border transactions, particularly within Latin America and Eastern Europe, where the firm holds a strong market presence.
- Prepare and negotiate legal documents essential to the restructuring process, including proposals for in-court and out-of-court settlements, credit agreements, and distressed debt trading arrangements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and legal standards, with a focus on providing sound, strategic counsel.
- Collaborate closely with the Financial Restructuring group, leveraging the firm’s resources and industry insights to provide premier client service.
