We have an exceptional opportunity for an I&C Automation Integration Project Engineer to join a global provider of energy solutions for manufacturing, chemicals, oil/gas utilities, and power generation plants.  You will be working to modify existing equipment and install new process equipment at our Columbia Facility.  This key project engineer role will have you involved with all phases of the project starting with developing a concept, providing estimates, developing installation timelines, designing power and controls, and supporting, installing, and testing the equipment.

Duties:

  • Design I&C Projects, Install them, Commission and Troubleshoot Equipment.
  • Perform I&C equipment upgrades and new installations.
  • Program PLCs and DCS systems.
  • Determine project specifications and performance requirements for the equipment and system.
  • Define project modification to DC, single-phase AC, and three-phase AC power systems.
  • Identify project requirements for modifications to existing control systems or installation of new control system hardware to meet project needs.
  • Specify project requirements for instrumentation, servos, and drives.
  • Provide rough order of magnitude estimates for changes and new equipment.
  • Update Process and Instrumentation Drawings, Electrical Elementaries, and Loop Sheets.
  • Prepare technical documents for purchase of equipment, installation of equipment, and testing/qualification of equipment.
  • Communicate project information to all levels of the organization including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or AS degree with 10+ years of instrumentation/controls experience.
  • 5+ years of I&C experience with relevant work experience in chemical, manufacturing or power plants
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and integrating with ERP in a manufacturing environment is highly desired for this role.
  • Expertise in industrial controls (SCADA, PLCs), digital technology, automation, robotics, MES and business systems
  • Skilled with managing automation, instrumentation, and controls project engineering from conception to installation and support.
  • Experience troubleshooting, upgrading Instrumentation
  • New plant I&C Project experience is a plus
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Industry 4.0, PE or similar professional certification is a plus.
  • PMI certification is a plus.
  • Advanced education/training is a plus!
