Our client, a well-established and growing construction firm, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects.

This role is ideal for someone early in their project management career who wants hands-on exposure, mentorship, and a clear path to becoming a Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project timelines are met
  • Support day-to-day project operations from pre-construction through closeout

Documentation & Reporting

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Track project progress and prepare status reports

Budget & Cost Control

  • Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
  • Review invoices and support billing processes
  • Help identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality

Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, and field teams
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on milestones and risks
  • Ensure clear and timely communication across all parties

Site Support

  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality standards
  • Work closely with Superintendents to ensure field execution aligns with project plans

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
    • 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management
    • Strong understanding of construction processes, documents, and terminology
    • Proficiency in project management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
