Exciting biotech company seeks Accountant to join the Finance Department. This person will be responsible for managing accounting needs, Accounts Payable and Receivable and corresponding documentation. This is a rapidly growing medical device company with plans to go public within the year, so it is an exciting time to join!
Requirements of the Accountant:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or applicable work experience.
  • 2+ years experience in accounting preferably in medical device or healthcare.
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end and month-end closing process.
  • Strong knowledge with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, multitasking and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive and establish solutions in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and through written correspondence across matrixed teams, leaders and vendors.
  • Accounting experience at a manufacturing company and start up preferred.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
Responsibilities of the Accountant:
  • AP, AR and Expense management, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support inventory count, reconciliation process and other departments in the company’s ERP.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations.
  • Budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Prepare, post, verify and maintaining record of customer transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Maintain filing system for financial records, information and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
