Machining & Fabricator Team Leader
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Shift Hours: 2nd Shift | Monday–Thursday, 3:15 p.m. – 1:45 a.m.
Pay: $29/hour ($28 base + $1 shift differential)


About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Machining & Fabricator Team Leader to join their climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This position offers a 4-day work week, quarterly profitability bonuses, and ample opportunities for career growth. The Team Leader will supervise CNC operators, manage workflow, ensure quality and safety standards, and play a key role in continuous improvement and production efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train CNC operators and machinists in daily operations.

  • Define and optimize machining processes; lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Operate and program CNC equipment, ensuring parts meet quality and efficiency standards.

  • Manage schedules, priorities, and workflow to meet production deadlines.

  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain productivity and quality.

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

  • Assist in launching new products and managing project timelines.

  • Maintain visual and lean management systems.


Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school training preferred.

  • Proven experience supervising machining or fabrication teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in CNC machine setup, operation, and basic programming.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and visual management.

  • Ability to stand 9–10 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and project management.

  • Prior forklift operation experience.

  • Ability to train others on safe and efficient machine use.

  • Blueprint reading and tool inspection experience.
