Dress inappropriately. Now that you know everything about the dream company you are interviewing with, (Do your homework, tip #2) you SHOULD know how to dress for your interview. While dress on a daily basis may be fairly casual, you ALWAYS should take your interview outfit to the next level.
Now, at Apple jeans and t-shirts are the norm. DON’T show up in jeans and a t-shirt unless you have inside intel that truly makes this OK. Go trendy, but conservative, with a little flair. If you are interviewing with a medical device or pharmaceutical company, you better show up in a suit, or business dress, gals. Blazer. Shoes shined.
Consider your industry – consider your role. Are you a sales rep? You are the face of your company – pull out all the stops. If you are interviewing for an engineering role – well engineers tend to be a tad more conservative and practical. If you are interviewing for a marketing role, you had better dress like your boss. No matter what, pay careful attention to your tidiness and personal hygiene.
