This position is responsible for (This is not a complete job description):
· Utilizing Industrial Engineering concepts to devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, and information
· Developing analytical tools and reports, determining process performance baselines, maintaining process performance measurements, and statistically analyzing metrics to identify areas for process improvement
· Utilizing IE skill set to assist in production planning and strategy: plant layout, capacity/bottleneck analysis, simulation, capacity planning, make/buy analysis and employee count/labor hours planning
· Implementing and supporting cultural change across the organization and drive business improvement
· Leading workplace 6S development and provide follow-up activities to drive improvement
· Strong understanding on SMED, able to facilitate and follow up on all teams
· Planning and conducting successful Kaizen activities that are fun and encourage others to participate
· Assisting in developing and documenting best methods via Job Methods and Job Instructions
· Partnering with operations to identify and eliminate the 7 wastes: Overproduction, Waiting, Transporting, Over-Processing, Inventory, Motion, and Defects
· Utilizing information from OEE systems to drive actions that improve OEE and productivity
· Collaborating with Engineering and Operations to identify improvement projects and opportunities
· Working directly with operators, to reduce changeover times, increase throughput, and otherwise optimize processes
· Supporting and administering company policies and procedures consistently
· Ensuring good housekeeping in all areas of the facility including manufacturing, distribution, and common areas
· Meeting or exceeding all performance and productivity standards
· Promoting a safe and healthy work environment on all company property to achieve the best working conditions for all employees and visitors
· Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures
· Performing other assignments as requested or as business needs require
This position requires (unless indicated):
· BS in Industrial Engineering or related field with 1 – 3 years IE experience in a manufacturing environment
· Solid grasp and practical implementation of Industrial Engineering concepts
· Lean manufacturing experience and expertise
· Six Sigma Certification (is a plus)
· Experience using MS Outlook and Office with intermediate or high Excel and Word skills
· Knowledge of statistical software (is a plus)
· Practical understanding of EHS and quality systems
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide expected results
· Maintaining regular and predictable attendance
· Communicating effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
· Working cooperatively, courteously, and respectfully with all team members, vendors, and visitors
· Following verbal and written instructions
· Complying with company processes and procedures
· Successfully completing drug and background screenings
