A highly regarded accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join its team in Las Vegas, NV. As a Tax Senior, you will perform diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the direction of supervisors, managers, and partners. This role offers hybrid flexibility and opportunities for career advancement in a supportive work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments.
  • Direct and supervise assistants in their tasks, reviewing their work and guiding necessary revisions.
  • Determine the extent of test-checking required during audits and select transactions for testing.
  • Prepare and index working papers, verifying the accuracy of financial matters under GAAP.
  • Prepare complex tax returns, including those for dissolution or liquidation.
  • Suggest client tax planning strategies to supervisors, managers, or partners.
  • Draft routine correspondence and comments for management letters.
  • Oversee assignments for staff accountants and assistants, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
  • Commit to occasional overtime throughout the year and heavy overtime (55+ hours per week) during tax season (January-April).

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience with increasing complexity in tax and auditing tasks (QuickBooks experience preferred).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education annually.
  • CPA license required
  • Membership in good standing with the AICPA preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per year.
  • Hourly compensation with overtime paid at time and a half.
  • Flexible hybrid work model.
