THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
The superintendent directs all personnel on a given project, takes responsibility for all safety, quality, and production goals for the project while adhering to all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations
- Build a team atmosphere to allow all foremen and operators to thrive and succeed. Site preparation and development involving grading, excavation, underground utilities, land fill, etc.
- Manage several foreman / lead men from superintendents to foreman / lead men on separate projects and provide them with the tools, equipment, and support they need.
- Schedule equipment delivery with the equipment manager
- Adhere to project schedules
- Schedule meetings with engineers and owners
- Maintain all erosion control inspections and ensure compliance
- Communicate scope, details, and schedule with the foreman
- Safety meetings and Random on-site safety inspections
- Manage production requirements as set forth in the project schedules
- Assist in training new hires and existing personnel
- Communicate project billing information to the office for timely invoicing
- Review and enter project time into Pro Contractor Mobile
- Maintain a project fie of fuel sheets, load count sheets, hourly work, change order requests, and all applicable materials lists.
- Schedule and order necessary construction materials
- Work with the project engineer to provide lists to order necessary construction materials and coordinate deliver
- Maintain OSHA / MSHA compliance on projects
- Maintain all expense reports credit card receipts, coded correctly, and turned in weekly
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Maintain company vehicle
- Sub Activities
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
- Practice workplace safety
- Maintain inventory of consumables on projects
- Complete daily fuel, load count, and hour logs
- Maintain current tool inventory in maintenance trailer/truck
- Maintain fuel tank level and inventory, communicate to management for deliveries
- Guide and lead the crew in all daily activities
- Perform minor emergency repairs on equipment as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge
Proficient knowledge in the following areas or be willing to learn:
· Equipment operations and maintenance

- Site specific hazards and conditions
- General site preparation techniques and procedures
- Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of heavy equipment
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures
