Sewer, Water, and Storm Drain Superintendent
Job Description:
The job of a Sewer, Water, and Storm Drain superintendent is to coordinate, plan, and supervise foremen in projects related to sewer, water, storm drain systems, and fire lines, among others. Superintendents should have a proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects and should have strong organization, record-keeping, and follow-up skills. They should also have a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years pipeline construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience
Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
Ability to read and understand plans
Strong organization, record-keeping, and follow-up skills
Tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
Bi-lingual
Must have a valid CA Driver’s License and good driving record
Responsibilities:
Coordinate, plan, and supervise Foremen in projects related to sewer, water, storm drain systems, and fire lines, among others
Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service Review construction documents for completeness and constructability

  Participate in the development and management of project schedules
Develop site logistics plans
Manage the utilization of company tools, equipment, and material
Collaborate with project partner superintendents and other office personnel to ensure job site productivity
Conduct on-site project orientations
Supervise project partners, Foremen, and crews
Conduct interviews as needed
Ensure proper task coding of work hours on time cards
Manage and track work progress
Conduct career development discussions with Foremen and crews
Conduct disciplinary actions as needed
Report all employee accidents, injuries, and incidents, and ensure proper documentation is complete and submitted to adequate office personnel
In case of injury, make sure that any necessary medical attention is sought immediately.
Conduct tail-gate safety meetings with all crew members and ensure all related forms and attendance sheets are completed by the employees attending the safety meetings
Ensure that all employees wear all appropriate protective safety gear and follow all safety regulations and requirements while on the job site
Keep all work and the job site clean and safe (equipment, bin area, lay down space, supplies, and materials)
Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures Meets/exceeds project goals while meeting budget
Other duties as assigned by management
