Position: Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer
Shift: 1st 
Type: Full-Time | Mode: Direct Placement
Pay Scale: $90,000-110,000 | Industry: Manufacturing

Position Expectations

  • Design electrical control systems including complete schematic development & panel layout using AutoCAD
  • Select electrical control devices and develop the associated Bill of Material
  • Support the design, documentation, assembly, integration, test and field support of industrial controls/systems
  • Ensure design compliance with electrical standards for world-wide installation
  • Create and maintain new and existing Technical Construction Files for CE Compliance.
  • Develop & debug control & data acquisition programs & systems
  • Create functional test requirements for equipment checkout & ensure proper calibration of control system transducers
  • Evaluate new components for form, fit, function equivalency to obsolete components
  • Create project plans, statements of work, product specifications, test plans, and technical drawings for design projects when a re-design of an electrical assembly is required to support obsolescence items
  • Oversee design reviews to include updating of all required documents
  • Final system documentation including creation of machine operators / maintenance manual
  • Provide technical expertise to production and repair departments to help trouble-shoot manufacturing and field issues
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
 
 

Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Prior experience creating and maintaining Technical Construction files for CE Compliance
  • Strong experience in PLC’s, Ladder Logic Design and HMI applications
  • Knowledge of current NEC electrical codes & wiring standards for industrial equipment Including Class I Division II wiring
  • Working knowledge of PC’s, Data Acquisition systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AC & DC motor controls
  • Knowledge of process control & measurement instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, flow, force and torque.
  • Experience with program managing jobs
  • Strong knowledge of MS Access, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in Auto CAD2000 or higher
  • Experience with post order reviews

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • C, C++ or C# programming experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban and 5S
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 and AS9100 requirements
  • Experience with 3D modeling and simulation
  • Aerospace, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or machined parts manufacturing, engineering, cost, and/or procurement requirements knowledge/experience
  • Familiarity/experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques
  • Working knowledge of ISO-9001, AS9100
