We are searching for a Principal R&D Electrical Engineer for a rapidly growing medical devices company. This exciting company develops electrophysiology products and is expected to go public this year.
Requirements for the Principal R&D Electrical Engineer:
  • 7+ years of experience working in electrical engineering
  • Bachelors Degree or higher
  • Experience with electronics design tools such as schematic capture (Altium, Orcad),
  • Experience with IEC 60601 and familiarity with design to handle defibrillation.
  • Experience bringing up a medical device system through regulatory testing and into clinical use
  • Experience working with SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet and other interface protocols.
  • Familiar with PLL, DDS, ADC, DAC, power supply design and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) SoCs and DSP filters.

Preferred experience:

  • Strong knowledge of the electrophysiology space
  • Experience working in a startup environment
Responsibilities of the Senior R&D Electrical Engineer:
  • Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials through understanding of datasheets, schematics and embedded code.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting analysis.
  • Confirm system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties; simulation; quick prototype; and debug of electrical circuits and firmware.
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
