Growing construction company that is spinning off from it’s parent company to be it’s own publicly traded company is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their staff.  Salary for this role is $80-90K plus bonus and a hybrid work schedule.

Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Company policy, procedure, and internal controls, generating, and implementing process improvements and efficiencies, and supporting various accounting department functions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including compiling and maintaining supporting schedules
  • Reviews classification of expenses in the general ledger and prepares necessary adjustments in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Internal control compliance, process design, documentation, and implementation
  • Assists with various audit tasks, including providing support and/or documentation for internal and external audit and various ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Perform basic and advanced accounting functions including, but not limited to; financial statement preparation, analysis, regular and ad-hoc reporting, percentage of completion, contract review, deferred compensation, general ledger reconciliation and analysis
  • Ability to facilitate complex accounting entries, templates, and processes in support of accounting management
  • Contributes to internal and external reporting functions to produce accurate results on the financial statements
  • Identify and help to implement process improvements/efficiencies within the accounting department
  • Ability to problem solve independently or through collaborative efforts with various personnel
  • Provide leadership and training/cross-training to peers and staff and other duties as requested by management
  • Serve as a lead between area office operations and corporate services to fulfill inquires and requests as necessary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA, CMA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Exceptionally strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The successful candidate must be a team oriented, self-starting multi-tasker with the ability to accomplish all assignments timely, independently, and against aggressive deadlines, professional and personable, a skilled communicator, both written and oral, and a team player
  • SAP experience is preferred.  Strong computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite
  • In office presence is required, with flexibility to work remotely based on business needs
  • Must be able to work a minimum of a 40-hour work week with additional time as required
