THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

Reports to the plant superintendent and works closely with Human Resources

This role coordinates with other plant personnel and the corporate Director of Safety & Environmental.  Responsible for leading plants Safety Program, ensuring a safe workplace for employees and compliance with applicable regulatory standards

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
  • Conduct all safety related training
  • Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs
  • Coordinate and track the Job Safety Observation program
  • Develop and perform Job Safety Hazard Analyses
  • Lead safety meetings, report minutes, and ensure follow-up / correction of safety issues
  • Lead all accident/near-miss investigations, prepare reports as necessary
  • Develop and lead plant Safety Ambassador program
  • Administer Safety Tour program
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on proper PPE
  • Act as primary liaison to Travelers
  • Schedule industrial Hygiene testing
  • Track return-to-work program and modified duty program until employee is released to full duty
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting all safety metrics

 

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related, will also consider Associates degree

·         Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety rules

·         Broad knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols

·         Ability to learn job site machinery, processes, and products as related to safety issues

·         Strong organizational skills
