We are currently searching for a Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry to assist with product development at an industry leading firefighting chemical compay. The Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry will develop novel formulations, test proof of concept, produce novel products and advance new technologies in the firefighting industry.
Requirements of the Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry:
BS in Chemistry. Advanced degree preferred.
Hands on experience with surface chemistry, emulsions, suspension stability or foam required.
Understanding of product development of formulations for surfactant-based products for fire protection. Experience with agricultural, pharmaceutical, personal care, or petroleum products preferred.
Expert level knowledge in current chemical industry standards as related to foams, emulsions, colloidal dispersions and surface science.
Responsibilities of the Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry:
Provide subject matter expertise and collaborate cross functionally to research and develop novel surfactant-based products and firefighting foams.
Develop novel firefighting foam technology.
Support tech transfer, product approvals and process scale up.
Continuously improve current products, maintain market leadership, and optimize product formulations.
Lead product testing and validation for new products.
Assist in proactive reformulation of products to meet industry standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure products are scaled-up successfully.
Provide tech support and training to distributors, customers and staff.
Conceptualize and implement new analytical test methods as needed for product development purposes.
