We are currently searching for a Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry to assist with product development at an industry leading firefighting chemical compay. The Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry will develop novel formulations, test proof of concept, produce novel products and advance new technologies in the firefighting industry.
Requirements of the Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry:
  • BS in Chemistry. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Hands on experience with surface chemistry, emulsions, suspension stability or foam required.
  • Understanding of product development of formulations for surfactant-based products for fire protection. Experience with agricultural, pharmaceutical, personal care, or petroleum products preferred.
  • Expert level knowledge in current chemical industry standards as related to foams, emulsions, colloidal dispersions and surface science.
Responsibilities of the Research Scientist – Surface Chemistry:
  • Provide subject matter expertise and collaborate cross functionally to research and develop novel surfactant-based products and firefighting foams.
  • Develop novel firefighting foam technology.
  • Support tech transfer, product approvals and process scale up.
  • Continuously improve current products, maintain market leadership, and optimize product formulations.
  • Lead product testing and validation for new products.
  • Assist in proactive reformulation of products to meet industry standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure products are scaled-up successfully.
  • Provide tech support and training to distributors, customers and staff.
  • Conceptualize and implement new analytical test methods as needed for product development purposes.
