Process Safety Engineer

Location: Port Hawkesbury, NS

Description:

This role is with an international, ambitious nutrition and food additive manufacturing company with sites spread across North America and beyond and capital flowing in for new technology development. This person would head a safety department with a good track record as part of the managerial team at a medium sized food additive and API manufacturing plant. You will have three safety personnel reporting to you and will spearhead safety improvement initiatives and will be called on to improve the safety culture on site. Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry
• 7+ years’ experience out of chemicals, fermentation, foods, or other processes involving the handling of hazardous materials
• Could currently be a safety manager, safety engineer, a production manager, or a process engineer with strong safety skills & leadership
