Minimum Requirements:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering required
- 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, highly preferred backgrounds would be: chemicals, specialty chemicals, plating chemicals, catalyst manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, foods manufacturing or something closely related
- Should have prior experience in process design which means putting together P&IDs, PFDs, using process simulation or modeling software, etc
- Previous SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience is a big plus
Job Description:
This person will work in a 100-person manufacturing plant; one side of the plant does catalyst recycling and the other half of the plant produces specialty chemicals. Unit operations that are used at the plant include reaction and distillation and it is a wet chemistry process. This position is open as a reflection of expansion and growth – there are a lot of projects on the docket over the next few years. This person will be working on those projects, interfacing with outside EPC companies and other vendors to go over P&IDs, PFDs, process layout and will be doing equipment sizing and specification. My client has carved out a really cool niche for themselves – they use green chemistry to recycle chemicals and materials for their customers. For the foreseeable future they have no competition in the area and they have been expanding their customer base at the same time which has given them a very stable and growing business climate. These capital and expansion projects are a reflection of their continued growth and the continued growth of the demand for their services.
