Job Description:
Applicant will be responsible for specification, design, analysis and testing of power and analog circuits for avionics and spaceborne applications.
Essential Functions:
Provide program support, including mission/requirements definition, concept generation and trade studies.
Perform system, sub-system, circuit card assembly (CCA) design and development from preliminary concept to final design; including schematic diagram generation, component selections, integration, test and evaluation support.
Produce technical documentation: including review materials for Customers, performance requirement specifications, test plans, and analysis reports.
Lead or support internal and external Design reviews, including Milestone events.
Perform Worst Case analyses (WCAs); support root cause corrective actions (RCCAs) and Failure Review boards (FRB).
Collaborate with manufacturing operation for fabrication in a program team environment.
Work independently, or lead a small team of designers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 9 years of experience, OR a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
7+ years of experience interpreting high level requirements to develop power solutions.
7+ years of experience in the design, development, test, evaluation and troubleshooting of discrete power converters and analog circuits.
Comprehensive experience of detailed power converter design across multiple topologies; power semiconductors’ characteristics, control loop theory, thermal management, custom magnetics design, PWB layout best practices and EMI filtering.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Experience with SPICE, Math CAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro and Mentor Graphics tools.
Extensive discrete design experience with different topology AC/DC and DC/DC power converters (both isolated and non-isolated) that meet the power and EMI requirements described under MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160.
Experience with Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
Experience leading teams and project designs.
H-infinity controls knowledge.
Effective collaboration across all levels of organizational Leadership.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
