East Tennessee manufacturer has immediate opening for an Operations Manager to lead metalworking operations. The Operations Manager will run the production floor on day shift, while directing off-shift Managers. Will be responsible for scheduling manpower, ensuring safety, and meeting production targets. Large rolls of steel and other alloys are brought to the plant. They are then formed according to customer specifications.
This is a job-shop type environment (made-to-order) producing customer-specific products in short runs. This 100-employee operation runs a 24/5 schedule. Overtime is minimal and the work environment is very good.
Prefer candidates with a BS degree (Engineering is ideal) along with experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a metallurgical environment. Will consider Supervisor level candidates (with 5-10 years experience) who are ready to move into an Operations Manager role.
