Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Design custom machinery for specific customer applications to improve their manufacturing operations. Engineers conceive the solutions for each application’s unique problems, design the necessary machinery in SolidWorks, specify the manufacturing steps, choose purchased components, monitor construction, test systems, trouble-shoot problems, and assure proper installation at customer’s site.

Systems frequently incorporate frame structures, motors, pumps, shafts, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, electro-mechanical sensors, electrical panels, wiring, enclosures, etc. Complex computer controls and programming developed in-house manage the customer’s process. Mechanical engineers work with Electrical and Controls Engineering team members to integrate the complete system seamlessly.

Engineers manage each project through design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation. Courses in machine design, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, strength of materials, material science, kinematics, and dynamics will provide the necessary background.

Hands-on experience building or repairing machinery, such as farm equipment, automobiles, motorcycles, or the like may demonstrate a practical knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems as well as creative problem-solving skills.

Our team of creative, experienced design engineers provide a collaborative atmosphere to help generate ideas, solve problems, and supply feedback within the design group. Consequently, entry level designers quickly acquire the knowledge they need to be successful.
