SENIOR MATERIALS MANAGER SUMMARY:
Lead improvement projects to achieve key plant objectives and to improve inventory availability and reduce inventory.
Direct the Shipping Receiving Warehouse, Materials & Production Planning, and Purchasing Managers.
Handle daily issues in support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities, and addressing issues.
Coordinate the activities of the master scheduler, order editing, and order processing.
Participate in ECN and product team meetings to guides the direction of product changes and improvements.
Manage personnel in Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Production Control and Logistics
Evaluate all aspects of production scheduling. Evaluate efficiency to improve reaction to and improve responsiveness to customer demand
Lead the supply chain for the plant and seeks to continuously improve vendor performance.
Ensure that all department activities are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and corporate standard processes.
Analyze information to identify issues or opportunities and develops plans to address these issues.
Responsible for driving safety performance within the plant to achieve the gold safety status (goal: no recordables or lost time injuries).
Perform safety observations/inspections as the need arises.
Evaluate current material handling and warehousing equipment, warehousing techniques, and future needs. Make recommendations for efficiency improvements.
Make sure there are adequate inventory levels and arrange for disposition and or disposal of surplus materials.
Run inbound and outbound material flow.
Represent the plant during all S&OE planning discussion and effectively communicate changes to ensure execution and Alignment.
Collaborating with management to plan forecasting models.
Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 3+ years, experience in materials management. In the absence of a four (4) year degree in an appropriate field of study, a total of eight (8) years of related experience is required.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
Experience with inventory management to include bin locations and put away processes.
Proficient with SAP or another ERP/MRP systems
Proficient with Excel
Experience with New Product Introduction.
Solid understanding and in-depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems.
Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities.
