Needing a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer (Non-exempt) highly experienced with testing instrumentation, solid lean manufacturing, and basic drives and controls experience in a high speed manufacturing environment for an innovative high-tech start-up in Markle, IN.
1st Shift: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (with PAID Overtime!)
2nd Shift: 2 p.m.-10 p.m. (with PAID Overtime!)
3rd Shift: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (with PAID Overtime!)
Manufacturing Process Engineer Profile:
BS or AS degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment
Highly experienced with testing instrumentation
Solid lean manufacturing experience, certification a plus
Basic drives and controls experience
Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes and material handling equipment
Must have hands-on experience building small prototypes
In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles, line balance, light curtain sensor technology, connectivity, etc.
Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP)
Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
Experience with time-wired machines
Understanding of tig and wig, brazing and welding, etc.
Driven-self starter that is mechanically minded
Ability to collaborate with managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and peers.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to problem solve and understand the impact of their work on operations and make adjustments
Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as meters, wrenches, drills, saws, etc.
Work around loud machinery requiring hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, etc.
Manufacturing Process Engineer Tasks:
Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production
Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements
Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices
Perform structural and thermal analyses of components and assemblies, build prototypes, evaluate performance, identify issues, and make improvements
Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction
Report to Plant Manager
