General Superintendent (Structures)

Area: Front Range – CO

Salary Range: $95 to $155k per year

 

Seeking a General Superintendent with structural experience to support our Front Range operations. The General Superintendent schedules, coordinates, and supervises craft employee activities on heavy civil construction projects. This may involve supervising one or more trade groups. The General Superintendent will be responsible for achieving optimum utilization of the equipment, material, and labor, thus maximizing production and minimizing costs in the area of assigned responsibility. All of this is to be accomplished in conjunction with practicing ethical business transactions, adhering to the corporate policies, values, and beliefs while pursuing the company’s short and long-range goals. An in-depth knowledge of all contractual requirements plans and specifications will be required. Must understand all quality requirements and be able to ensure crews are trained to perform high quality work. The Superintendent will be responsible for developing a high performing team that works cooperatively with all owner and subcontractor representatives during the production.

 

Responsibilities:

– Plan and supervise craft activities including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked

– Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, company departments, or other contractors

– Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule

– Assist in resolving construction issues

– Assist labor relations departments

– Monitor craft compliance with project safety program and environment requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented

– Maintain liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, QC) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule

– Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements

– Maintain an insurable driving record

 

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in the construction industry

– Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills required

– Experience in scheduling, cost control, technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures

– Intermediate computer and software skills preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)

– Must be willing and able to travel
