• Controller has ownership of all phases of accounting and control, to include asset accounting and reporting, general ledger, A/R, A/P and financial planning and analysis.  Maintains internal controls in assigned areas of responsibility.
• Coordinates accounting activities involving payroll entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash collection and posting of other receivables, general ledger, and fixed assets. Prepares Internal Financial Statements (GAAP).
• Responsible for preparation and submission of external reporting (CMS, TDI, HHSC).  Responsible for supervision of all financial audits. Ensures accuracy of and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, statutory accounting principles. 
• Oversees forecasting and budgeting, consistent with executive leadership’s goals and the dynamic business environment.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s degree in math,, statistics, business, accounting, or finance is required. (Master’s degree in a related field is a plus).

Seven to ten years of Finance & Accounting experience with five years in a position with supervisory responsibilities is required. 

Previous experience in a managed care organization or health insurance company is required.

Strong leadership capability and experience.

Additionally, knowledge of Texas Managed Medicaid as well as federal Medicare Advantage and commercial health insurance exchange programs is preferred.
