» Develop budget estimates by performing accurate quantity take offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information
» Capable of accurately taking off/evaluating all electrical systems. Systems include lighting, lighting control, electrical devices, fire alarm, nurse call, A/V, modular wiring, grounding, motor and equipment connections, generators, power distribution equipment, feeders, UPS, etc.
» Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships
» Must be able to recognize/identify potential discrepancies and errors in documents and develop RFIs for timely response
» Must be able to review BOM of subcontractors, suppliers and material quotes; determine completeness, compliance with bid documents; and make recommendation to Executives
» Must be knowledgeable and competent at quickly evaluating and estimating VE solutions
» Review and understand project schedules and evaluate impact on project costs
» Must be organized and be able to handle multiple projects at a time. Working within a team environment or independently is crucial
» Minimum 5-10 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial/industrial/high-tech and hospital industries
» Must be able to prepare comprehensive bids with general conditions, and effectively communicate scope inclusions/exclusions to potential customers
» Must possess concrete knowledge of structural, architectural, and mechanical documents and their impact on electrical scope
» Must possess effective communication skills and have the aptitude to assist in the training of junior estimators and other team members concerning estimating procedures/software
» Knowledge of, and experience with Accubid and/or EBM is essential. Knowledge of, and experience with Bluebeam and Sage preferred.
» Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and must possess a strong work ethic
» Knowledge of NEC, local codes, and construction methods
» Experience evaluating and estimating design/build contract work preferred
» Must pass drug test and criminal background check
» Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DMV records check
